Sixth Grade Social Studies
Students in sixth grade will take a “Journey Across Time” as we look into ancient civilizations. The students will identify the ways humans’ basic needs are met, examine the complex nature of each civilization we study, and compare and contrast events leading to the decline of the empires we discuss. Our journey begins with the students studying the Stone Ages and takes them through ancient Mesopotamia. The students explore ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and ancient Rome as well. We culminate the students’ journey by examining Medieval Europe, the Renaissance, and the Reformation.
